It is the first house in Greece, specially constructed for the long-term accommodation of multiply disabled visually impaired individuals.

It is open since 2012 and accommodates seven (7) individuals.

For many years, families in Amimoni dreamed of a beautiful and disabled-friendly property where multiply disabled individuals educated in the premises of “Amimoni” could continue living after their parents and guardians could no longer cater for them.

The house is designed with an emphasis on ease of use for multiply disabled people. It consists of:

  • welcoming communal areas
  • bedrooms with an en suite bathroom or with a shared bathroom between two residents
  • a kitchen – a dining room
  • an area for educational activities – gym
  • a training kitchen for educational purposes
  • verandas
  • a big garden

The property was purchased and partially renovated by the “Lilian Voudouri” Foundation and it remains the greatest gift in the history of “Amimoni”.
The operating costs of the first three years were covered by a National Strategic Reference Framework Programme.
