The establishment of Amimoni became essential due to the lack of any suitable educational framework for children with multiple disabilities.
The President of the Association, Paraskevi Bellou, mother of a child who was then facing this essential deficiency in the country, was inspired and created, together with other parents who shared the same anxiety for the future of their children, Amimoni.
The goal is for blind children with additional disabilities to have the right to education and dignity.
Our vision is for every multiply disabled visually impaired person in Greece to receive the education and treatment they need, to use their capabilities in full and to live autonomously and with dignity all their lives and still, for their family to have the support and care they need to be able to meet their increased needs.
Our mission is to provide every person with visual impairments and additional disabilities personalized education, care and support throughout their lives, while empowering their family.
Amimoni is the only Panhellenic organization that provides education, care and treatments to children and adults with visual impairments and additional disabilities covering their entire lives, while supporting their families in every way.
