[vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hXrZhv4Lgvg” align=”center”][vc_column_text]This is the first model playground in Greece for the children that Amimoni has been training and helping since 1993 – children with partial or total visual impairment<\/strong> who may also have mental retardation, autism, syndromes, motor impairment, cerebral palsy, hearing problems, epilepsy, neurological or psychiatric disorders<\/strong> \u2013 but also the children of the whole world, because every child has the right to play<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

The playground is a play area, with various beneficial effects, not only for the child, but also for the parents. Especially in big cities, where the possibilities of physical activity are clearly limited, playgrounds are the best places to play and shape important skills<\/strong>, such as the development and practice of motor skills (fine and gross mobility), multisensory stimulation, the development and strengthening of self-confidence and independence, the opportunities for social integration, etc.<\/p>\n

As the existing playgrounds do not meet the needs of children and adults with severe cerebral palsy and visual impairment, the Model Playground will enable even the most burdened people and their families to enjoy moments of happy coexistence, in a safe and carefully thought out environment, without the feeling of exclusion and marginalization they face from those around them<\/strong>. This enables the implementation of programs for social inclusion, emotional development and the cultivation of basic skills<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In addition, playing on the playground strengthens motor skills, self-confidence and independence, including other beneficial properties that lead to the psychosomatic and sensory development of children<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The project started in 2016 through a crowdfunding campaign<\/strong> with the support of Act4Greece<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Its construction was completed by its fencing<\/strong>, courtesy of Lamda Development<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Model Playground of Amimoni has been operating since 2018 at the Association’s facilities<\/strong> in Elliniko<\/strong> (former American base) and has so far won 2 awards:<\/p>\n
