{"id":8524,"date":"2019-10-03T09:53:13","date_gmt":"2019-10-03T06:53:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amimoni.gr\/?page_id=8524"},"modified":"2025-08-11T13:10:22","modified_gmt":"2025-08-11T10:10:22","slug":"early-intervention","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/amimoni.gr\/en\/programs\/early-intervention\/","title":{"rendered":"Early Intervention"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=&#8221;18735&#8243; img_size=&#8221;600&#215;149&#8243; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_empty_space]<div class=\"standard-arrow bullet-top\"><p>This is the first educational Early Intervention Program for children with vision impairments in Greece, which is provided in the natural environment of the child and the family, in their home.<\/p>\n<p>The program is aimed at <strong>infants and preschool children<\/strong> with <strong>blindness, low vision, <\/strong>or a diagnosed problem of visual perception and contributes to the strengthening of the child&#8217;s stimuli as well as the emotional connection with the parents, in order to develop their abilities to the maximum extent possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The main purpose<\/strong> of the program is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To support the child holistically &#8211; synesthetically, developmentally, educationally and psychologically &#8211; in order to utilize his existing potential and conquer his own peak<\/li>\n<li>To support the family in order to achieve the essential involvement of the parents in the development of the child, the strengthening of their relationship with their child and the promotion of their social integration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It has been operating since 2004 and provides services to over 40 children and families every year throughout Greece and since 2020, also abroad.<\/p>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space]<div id=\"ultimate-heading-86846ab777d4bc191\" class=\"uvc-heading ult-adjust-bottom-margin ultimate-heading-86846ab777d4bc191 uvc-986  uvc-heading-default-font-sizes\" data-hspacer=\"line_only\"  data-halign=\"left\" style=\"text-align:left\"><div class=\"uvc-main-heading ult-responsive\"  data-ultimate-target='.uvc-heading.ultimate-heading-86846ab777d4bc191 h5'  data-responsive-json-new='{\"font-size\":\"\",\"line-height\":\"\"}' ><h5 style=\"--font-weight:theme;\">Services and Operation<\/h5><\/div><div class=\"uvc-heading-spacer line_only\" style=\"margin-bottom:20px;height:1px;\"><span class=\"uvc-headings-line\" style=\"border-style:solid;border-bottom-width:1px;border-color:#01bab5;width:200px;\"><\/span><\/div><\/div>[vc_empty_space]<div class=\"standard-number-list bullet-top\"><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-15473 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/amimoni.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/inside-proimi-01-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/amimoni.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/inside-proimi-01-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/amimoni.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/inside-proimi-01.jpg 375w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The program takes place in each child&#8217;s home once a week, on a set day and time, and lasts about an hour and a half. During this time<strong>, educational activities are carried out with the child in the form of games<\/strong> (45-60 minutes) with the presence and participation of the parents. This is followed by parent <strong>counseling<\/strong> (30 minutes) with the aim of discussing the child&#8217;s needs, providing information and help to understand the child&#8217;s potential and difficulties, and to manage and resolve problems in their relationship with the child.<\/p>\n<p>On an annual basis, support per family includes the following services:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Evaluation of the child&#8217;s functional vision, assessment of his developmental needs<\/li>\n<li>Weekly educational sessions with the child and family in their home<\/li>\n<li>Counseling with parents at least once a month<\/li>\n<li>Support and cooperation with the child&#8217;s other therapists (occupational therapists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Social Worker Services and liaison with the Local Community.<\/li>\n<li>Cooperation and communication with the child&#8217;s doctors<\/li>\n<li>Guidance regarding school or other educational context, accompanying the child during his first contact with the school and communication with his teachers<\/li>\n<li>Child psychiatrist services<\/li>\n<li>Interconnection of families with each other, through the creation of &#8220;groups of parents&#8221;
