“Amimoni” was founded because of sheer lack of any formal educational context for multiply disabled children.
The President of the Association, Paraskevi Bellou, being a mother of a child experiencing at the time the stark reality of this particular deficiency in the Greek educational system, envisioned“Amimoni” and established it together with other parents equally concerned about their children’s future.
The goal was self-evident: To establish full rights to education for Multiply Disabled Visually Impaired Children and help them maintain their dignity.
“Amimoni” remains the sole Panhellenic institution educating children and adults with visual impairment and multiple disabilities. All these years, through the four programmes it has been running, “Amimoni” has fostered, helped and educated, support and consult more than 480 families.
